FAQ

How long does a custom software project take?

It depends on scope, but most projects fall into one of two buckets: smaller internal tools or integrations that take 4–8 weeks, and larger client-facing applications that run 3–6 months. We scope everything before we start so there are no surprises.

How much does custom software development cost?

Smaller projects typically start around $10,000–$25,000. Larger applications with more complexity run higher. We work on a fixed-scope basis where possible so you know the cost upfront.

Do you work with clients outside of Madison, Wisconsin?

Yes. We're based in Madison but work with businesses across the US. Most of our engagements are fully remote, and we're comfortable working asynchronously or with regular video check-ins.

What's the difference between AI integration and AI consulting?

AI integration means we build something — connecting AI to your existing tools, automating a workflow, or adding an AI feature to your product. AI consulting is for businesses that aren't sure where to start: we audit your processes, identify where AI actually makes sense, and hand you a practical roadmap.

Do you maintain software after it's built?

Yes. We offer ongoing support and maintenance after launch. Many clients keep us on retainer to handle updates, new features, and infrastructure as their needs evolve.

How do I know if AI is the right fit for my business?

A good signal is whether you have repetitive tasks that follow clear rules — document processing, data entry, routing, summarization. If your team does the same thing over and over, there's likely a high-value AI opportunity. We offer an AI audit to help you find those spots before committing to a build.
